Sayers – 4/5
Sayers is a popular mainstay of Leederville. I remember enjoying my visits years ago and have been keen to return since moving back to Perth. We were lucky enough to score a table on a Saturday morning without having to wait. Their breakfast menu is quite eclectic, which makes it a hard choice for me, as I always love to order what I wouldn’t cook for myself at home. We chose the potato rosti which was served with poached eggs, bacon, onion jam and spinach and the blue manna crab and corn croquettes with poached eggs, spinach and a tomato relish.
Our eggs were pretty perfect and the croquettes were tasty but I couldn’t taste much crab in them. The presentation of the dishes was fantastic – my mouth was watering when they were delivered. Both dishes were very generous and quite rich. We weren’t able to finish either of them and skipped lunch afterwards! Prices are quite high – along with our coffees our breakfast came to almost $50. The coffee was a little weak for our liking.
