Cantina 663

Cantina 663 – 4.5/5

We headed into Mount Lawley’s Cantina for a late dinner. We thankfully booked because the restaurant was still full when we arrived at 9pm! The restaurant itself is quite small, however, they have extend into the small shopping arcade alongside at night.

The menu is veered towards a number of smaller share plates with six larger mains. After trying to decide what we didn’t want because everything sounded and looked delicious, we ordered – the Mary Street Bakery bread, the duck liver parfait with onion jam, the Esperance sardines with salsa verde, raisins and almonds and the gnocchi with salt cod, fava bean and leeks. The food was delicious. The duck liver pate was smooth and full of flavour and the sardines were lightly crumbed and moreish. The standout dish was the gnocchi, however. The fluffy pasta was perfect and the cod and leeks were buttery and a great accompaniment.
