Katong – 4/5
I thought I should do a bit of Singaporean-food research before my trip at Christmas, as it seems my plan to eat crab for every meal might not be all that practical. So we headed to Perth institution Katong to try out a few dishes. Katong is now located in City Beach, after years in Murray Street in the city and later, Floreat.
We had the combination mee hoon soup, the char siew and sambal kang kong. The kang kong was spicy and swimming in a delicious and rich sauce. The char siew (finely sliced marinated pork) was amazing. The flavour was rich and the pork was unbelievably tender and moist. It was like the best Asian pulled pork, you could imagine!
Servings are more than generous and service is friendly.
