The Beaufort Street Festival, held over the past weekend, is another event that showcases the burgeoning food and art scene in Perth. The fact that all of these great businesses surround the one street is purely a benefit for punters – it allowed the thousands of people who attended the event to try a little bit of everything on the one day.
It was hot and humid on Saturday, so we happily tried out lots of the beverages on offer whilst grabbing a bite to eat wherever took our fancy. All the usual favourites had something special on offer – we stopped by Googa Mooga (Luxe Bar‘s carpark bar), Marcelita’s Empanadas (try the pork and lime ones!) and the fantastic Shady Shack run by the team from Mary Street Bakery and el Publico.
Our pick on the day was from Cantina – the porchetta roll was delicious. The soft roll was filled with a tasty slaw, loads of roasted porchetta and crunchy pork crackling.
Mark it in your calendar to visit the festival next year! It was a great event and fantastic way try out and support the Mt Lawley and Highgate area.
