Stokehouse – 4/5

There are few better places for an afternoon drink in Brisbane than the Stokehouse. Located in the River Quay precinct of Southbank, the bar area is very Queensland – wooden decking, afternoon breezes and a perfect view of the River and cityscape.

On a warm afternoon we had glasses of crisp white wine alongside a few items off the bar menu – chips with chilli salt and aioli, breaded Spanish olives and a delicious charcuterie plate. The pate was rich and creamy and it was hard to share the duck liver parfait.

The restaurant takes on a lovely dark mood when the sun sets. I’d recommend extending your afternoon drinks into dinner.
