Lefty’s Old Time Music Hall – 4/5

Lefty's Old Time Music Hall - 4/5 We lived behind the Caxton Street precinct years ago and suffice to say, it was a little different to what it is now. The food and drink options were limited to a few pubs and late night food options (kebabs!) and after dark, I used to walk pretty quickly to my house down the quiet street. A recent addition to the now bustling Caxton Street and The Barracks area is Lefty's, an American-styled bar and music venue. Decked out in red velvet and chandeliers (a hangover from its previous incarnation as a strip club?), the large room is a surprising sight. We tried their delicious freshly squeezed green apple juice with gin, recommended by the friendly bar staff. We didn't try any of their bar snacks - they have items such as corn dogs and po'boys on offer, but their freshly popped buttery popcorn was a nice touch.

  1. I was there Sunday and got the Blackened Catfish Po’boy. The fish was beautiful, and the dish itself was ok. My favourite part was the mini Tabasco sauce bottle you get with each meal. And I love their popcorn. So good that they just give it out for free!
