Pinchos – 4/5

It’s no secret that one of my favourite cities is San Sebastián, in the north of Spain. Beautiful cobbled laneways, stunning beaches, late mornings and amazing bite sized pinxtos. So, on hearing of Pinchos opening in Leederville, I was keen to hear if it would fill my Spanish-food void.

Pinchos uses a paper-based ordering system – you note the number of serves of each dish you are after before paying at the counter. We decided on five dishes, which all arrived very quickly. Items range from $1 for starters such as anchovy, pickle and green olive on bread, to $9 for two grilled prawn and cuttlefish skewers. Go for the mixed boards if you can’t decide!

The dishes were full of interesting flavours and whilst not quite the same as what I remembered from my trip, a nice rendition. Pinchos is quick, affordable and relaxed.

  1. I enjoyed going to Pinchos too (with Whit from dinewhitme who did the ordering for us… she knows her food!!). It’s a very cool little space… a worthy conversion from the previous Snags and Sons.
