Gordita – 4/5

One of the many new venues gracing M&A Lane, Gordita oozes style – copper lighting, dark art-filled walls and plenty of cosy booths to get comfortable in. It is easy to see its similarities to sister restaurants, Peasant and Cabiria.

Our table of six shared the Prawns Tio Diego, the Gallega Style Octopus, the chicken skewers with couscous, a huge lamb shoulder, carrots with caramelised goats cheese and the pictured, very tender ox-tail stew (Rabo de Toro). Everything was delicious, boasting strong but not overpowering Spanish flavours.

The plates, excepting the lamb on the bone, were a little too small to share. Service levels during our visit were erratic.
