We don’t get to Freo as much as we should. It has a great relaxed vibe and new restaurants galore.
Public and Co opened in recently in South Fremantle. It is housed in a beautiful light-filled limestone cottage, decorated with great artwork on the walls. The bright front room was busy and loud, so we retreated to the courtyard-like back room.
Our brunch dishes were fantastic. We had the baked eggs with spinach, Swiss brown mushrooms, feta and truffle oil and the Public and Co breakfast. The addition of mushrooms and truffle flavour to the baked eggs was a delight. The house baked bread topped off a lovely and filling (3 eggs!) dish.
The breakfast plate came with avocado toast, eggs, a crunchy hash brown and amazing house smoked bacon. I’ll return just for some more of that!
The coffee was nutty and smooth and the lunch time menu looked great. I’m jealous of those who live close by. It would be a fantastic place to while away your weekend mornings.
